1. Invisibilia - Flip the Script
Pacifists are often challenged with hypothetical situations about using a gun to defend their family from imminent danger.  But when confronted with a situation of unplanned agression, do any of us know how we would truly react in the moment?  This excellent episode of Invisibilia speaks to the perhaps surprising effects a non-aggressive response may bring to bare on a hostile circumstance. The anecdotal example of a dinner party with an unexpected guest and the more systematic approach Denmark is taking to fight extremism with love make the old adage about fighting fire with fire seem woefully outdated.

2. Reply All - Stolen Valor (#70)
As the show often accomplishes, this edition of Reply All brought into the light a corner of internet subculture I have neither heard of nor understand.  This week: soldier imposter shaming videos. While revelation didn't flow freely (who are those people who pose as soldiers, and who are those actual soldiers who sometimes mistakenly shout down someone who was actually in the military?!) I did think it was a fitting juxtaposition of confusion to parallel the tid bit that bookended the episode. The dispatch from Dallas in the sobering hours following the tragic events left everyone in virtual and actual reality at a loss to make sense of the world.

3. Revisionist History - My Little Hundred Million
Malcolm Gladwell is usually a calm and collected observer of fascinating and often inexplicable social observer.  In this episode we get that insight along with some righteous indignation as Gladwell tears into the practice of charitable giving to insanely wealthy institutions.  It's worth it just to witness him lose his cool, but the episode also asks the listener to consider the exclusivity that pervades many elite bastions of higher learning. How does that lack of access reflect on the depth of intellect that accompanies technical innovation?
